Is Later Neighbor Moving insured?

Will you bring blankets and wrap?

Yes! Our crew will bring the materials needed to wrap your furniture with blankets and plastic wrap to protect it from damage.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept all major credit/debit cards. We do not accept cash, check, money orders, or bank transfers/ACH.

Do you require a deposit?

Yes, we do require a deposit in order to reserve the resources required for your move. Your deposit will be applied as a credit towards your final invoice. The deposit will be $100 or 10% of your estimate, whichever is greater.

Is the deposit refundable?

When you book with us, we require a deposit to reserve the resources required for your move. The deposit is not refundable in the case of cancellation or last-minute schedule changes. 

How are the billable hours calculated?

For all hourly services, you will be billed in 15-minute increments. 

For local moves and packing services: 

The clock starts when our crew arrives at your origin address. 

The clock stops after:

  1. All of your service needs have been completely satisfied;
  2. All of our materials, tools, and equipment have been loaded back in the truck;
  3. AND Payment has been received.

For long-distance Intrastate moves: 

You will only be billed for the labor time, not transit time. 

The clock starts when our crew arrives at your origin address. 

The clock stops when our truck(s) leave the origin address. 

The clock starts again once our truck(s) arrive at the destination address.

The clock stops after:

  1. All of your service needs have been completely satisfied;
  2. All of our materials, tools, and equipment have been loaded back in the truck;
  3. AND Payment has been received.

For Interstate moves: 

For Interstate moves, we charge a flat rate. You will not be billed hourly unless you elect to use our packing services.

How is the Service Fee calculated?

The Service Fee is simply $25 plus $2 multiplied by the total round-trip mileage for you move. The mileage is calculated using Google Maps starting from the location where are trucks are dispatched from.

Can I change my moving date?

Absolutely! We just ask that you let us know as soon as possible if you need to make changes to your moving date. We will do our best to accommodate last-minute changes, if possible.

Do I need to empty dressers?

Yes, we ask that you please empty all furniture items prior to your move. 

What can I do to prepare for my move?

Here are some suggestions of things you can do before and during your move to help our crew work as efficiently as possible:

  1. Pack Efficiently: Pack your belongings in sturdy boxes, and ensure they are properly sealed and labeled with their contents and destination rooms. This will help movers quickly identify where each box should go in your new home.
  2. Disassemble Furniture: If possible, disassemble large furniture items like beds, tables, and bookshelves before the movers arrive. This will save time and make it easier to transport these items. (of course, we are more than happy to do this part for you if you would rather not do it yourself!)
  3. Clear Pathways: Ensure that hallways, doorways, and pathways both at your old and new homes are clear of obstacles. This includes removing rugs, securing loose cables or cords, and ensuring there are no low-hanging obstacles that could impede the movers’ progress.
  4. Designate Parking: If possible, reserve a parking spot close to your home for the moving truck. This will reduce the distance movers have to carry your belongings and save time during loading and unloading.
  5. Communicate Clearly: Clearly communicate your expectations with the movers. Provide them with a floor plan of your new home so they know where to place furniture and boxes upon arrival.
  6. Stay Available: Be available to answer any questions the movers may have and provide guidance as needed. Having someone present who knows the layout of your home and the specifics of your move can help prevent misunderstandings and ensure everything goes smoothly.
  7. Provide Refreshments: Consider providing water, snacks, or lunch for the movers, especially if it’s a long day. This gesture can boost morale and keep energy levels up throughout the moving process.
  8. Secure Valuables: Keep valuable or fragile items separate and let the movers know about them. You may want to transport these items yourself to ensure they receive special care.
  9. Stay Organized: Keep important documents, keys, and personal items easily accessible throughout the move. This will prevent delays and ensure everything stays organized.
  10. Inspect Beforehand: Conduct a walkthrough with the movers before they begin loading the truck. Point out any fragile items or special instructions to ensure they are handled properly.
  11. Express Appreciation: Show appreciation for the movers’ hard work and professionalism. A simple thank you goes a long way in creating a positive atmosphere during the move.

Do you do assembly and disassembly?

Yes! We just ask that you let us know of any items that will require assembly or disassembly prior to your move so that we can make sure we have the right tools and equipment!

Do you have any hidden fees?

No hidden fees! We aim to provide completely transparent pricing. As long as you communicate to us the full scope of your move, then any charges you may incur should be listed on your estimate. 

When do I pay for my move?

We require payment on-site as soon as the move is completed. Please be prepared to make payment on the day of your move. We accept all major debit/credit cards for payment. We do not accept any other forms of payment.

How much do I tip my movers?

Tip is not required but is greatly appreciated! Our movers typically receive tips ranging from $4 to $15 per person per hour depending on the size and scope of the move.
